“The first six months of this year were very good.” The city’s fiscal year runs from May 1 to April 30 so the 2020 fiscal year will not end until next April. Located at 2511 State 157, Hotshots Sports Bar & Grill in Edwardsville, IL is the perfect place to meet with friends and enjoy great food and cold beer. Tackling the retail sector first, Williams talked about the Edwardsville Senior Living Center under construction on Hillsboro Avenue, on the site of the former Anna Henry Nursing Home. Work started on the site back in the spring. Phoenix Real Estate Services President Dan Barnard said his company began looking across the Mississippi River for new places to build in 2017. Barnard said they found such a place in Edwardsville. Plans call for two, three-story buildings with 24 units each, he said. There will be 12 one-bedroom apartments comprising 825-square-feet and 36 two-bedroom units with 1,050-square-feet. There will be 114 parking slots, including six spaces for the disabled. Rents will range from $638 per month for the one-bedroom units to $825 per month for the larger apartments. They are designed for residents who are at least 55 years old, but Barnard said the average resident’s age is in the 70s. The project is expected to cost nearly $12 million. “Edwardsville has always had such a great ‘Mayberry’ type of reputation,” Barnard said. Construction should be complete by summer.

Williams also mentioned the new HSHS medical center on Route 157 near the Edwardsville High School football stadium.
